Dancing Wind
Liveaboard in Indonesia
Dancing Wind is a 45-meter traditional Phinisi liveaboard built in 2018, accommodating up to 20 guests across 8 cabins — two double cabins on the main deck and six twin cabins on the lower deck. For the 2026/2027 season, the vessel operates 7 to 12-day itineraries across Raja Ampat, Komodo, Banda Sea, and Halmahera. Nitrox is available onboard. Rates starting from USD $477 per person per day.
Dancing Wind was built in 2018 by traditional craftsmen in Kendari, South Sulawesi, combining ironwood construction with modern diving functionality. Designed by a team of experienced divers and hospitality professionals, the vessel operates across some of Indonesia's most biodiverse regions — from the well-known reefs of Raja Ampat and Komodo to more remote destinations including Halmahera, the Banda Sea, Lembeh Strait, Wakatobi, the Seram Sea, Sangihe, Togean, Alor, and the Forgotten Islands. With a cruising speed of 8 knots and 15 tons of fuel capacity, the vessel is equipped for extended passages into less-visited corners of the archipelago.
Eight guest cabins accommodate up to 20 passengers across two configurations. Two double cabins on the main deck feature panoramic windows and en-suite bathrooms with hot water. Six twin cabins on the lower deck are designed for shared occupancy, with four of the six able to accommodate a third guest. All cabins are individually air-conditioned with en-suite facilities. Common areas include a large salon with flat-screen TV and home cinema surround sound, three lounge decks, and a spacious outdoor dining area serving five meals daily — a blend of Indonesian, European, and Japanese cuisine. Soft drinks, water, tea, coffee, and beer are included in the cruise price.
Diving operations run at a 4:1 guest-to-guide ratio with nitrox available onboard. A dedicated camera room provides storage, drying facilities, and maintenance support for underwater photographers. The vessel supports technical divers and carries state-of-the-art navigation and safety equipment including GPS, VHF radio, and satellite-based communication.
