Jelajahi Laut
Liveaboard in Indonesia
Jelajahi Laut is a 32-meter traditional Phinisi liveaboard built in Bira in 2021 from ironwood and teak, accommodating up to 12 guests across 6 cabins. Operated by Mikumba Diving, a Green Fins and PADI Eco Centre certified operator, the vessel runs itineraries across Raja Ampat, Lembeh, Bunaken, Halmahera, Ambon, and the Banda Sea. Nitrox available at a surcharge. For the 2026/2027 season, rates start from USD $395 per person per day.
Jelajahi Laut — "Explore the Sea" in Indonesian — is the mid-range liveaboard in the Mikumba Diving fleet, built in 2021 to the operator's own specification by Bira's Phinisi boat builders. Mikumba Diving holds Green Fins certification and PADI Eco Centre status, reflecting a documented commitment to reef-safe practices, waste management, and marine awareness programs in the local community. The vessel follows a year-round seasonal schedule that moves across the northern Indonesian archipelago: Raja Ampat from November to April, transitioning through Lembeh and Bunaken from May to June, Halmahera from July to September, and the Banda Sea and Ambon from October to November before returning to Raja Ampat. This routing gives guests access to a genuinely wide range of dive environments over the course of a year.
Six cabins accommodate up to 12 guests across three categories. Two Sea View cabins on the top deck each have a double bed, a private balcony with views, and en-suite bathrooms with hot water and air conditioning. Two Deluxe cabins each offer a double bed and a single bed with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, and hot water — a flexible layout for two guests or small families. Two Standard cabins each have two single beds and share a bathroom between them, with air conditioning and hot water. All areas have 220V sockets. Common areas include a large sun deck with sunbeds, beanbags, and cushions, and an air-conditioned indoor dining and living room with widescreen TV, sound system, fish ID library, and board games.
Diving is supported by two Bauer air compressors, a Renner membrane nitrox compressor, and two speedboats with 100HP four-stroke Yamaha outboards. The tank inventory covers 40 x 11-litre tanks in both DIN and INT configurations plus 4 x 15-litre tanks, alongside Suunto and Shearwater dive computers available for rental. All meals, tea, coffee, soft drinks, and water are included. Nitrox, alcohol, Starlink internet, and equipment rental are available onboard at an additional cost.
