Liveaboard in Indonesia

0 (0 reviews)

Malayeka is a 41.44-meter traditional Phinisi liveaboard built in Bulukumba, South Sulawesi in 2014 and launched as the newest addition to the Lotus Journey fleet following a major 2026 refurbishment, accommodating 16 guests across 8 en-suite cabins. A pure diving vessel, it runs itineraries across Raja Ampat, Komodo, Banda Sea, Alor, Triton Bay, and North Halmahera. Nitrox included. For the 2026/2027 season, rates start from USD $430 per person per day.

Malayeka is part of Lotus Journey, a boutique collection of eco dive resorts and liveaboards spanning Indonesia, including Lotus Papua Paradise (overwater bungalows on Birie Island, Raja Ampat), Lotus Gangga Island (North Sulawesi), Lotus Metita Island, Lotus Bungalows Candidasa (Bali), and Lotus Almarik on Gili Trawangan — each run as a PADI 5-Star Dive Resort with its own Gangga Divers dive center. Built in 2014 by the renowned boatbuilders of Bulukumba and extensively refurbished in 2026, Malayeka joins fleet partner Malaillo as the group's second dedicated liveaboard, combining traditional Phinisi craftsmanship with fully modernized dive facilities and safety systems. Lotus Divers maintains a 1:4 guide-to-diver ratio onboard, following the same international diving safety standards applied across the group's resort dive centers.

Eight cabins accommodate 16 guests across three decks. Four double cabins sit on the lower deck, alongside two bunk-bed cabins that can also be booked for single occupancy at no supplement, subject to availability. Two further double cabins are on the upper deck. All cabins have en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold showers, air conditioning, a desk, wardrobe, storage space, reading lights, and power outlets. Common areas include an indoor restaurant and lounge, a dedicated air-conditioned camera room with spacious workstations and international power outlets, a sun deck with sunbeds and bean bags for stargazing and sunset views, and a dedicated dive deck.

The dive deck provides individual stations for every guest, with two outdoor showers and a public toilet, supported by two Bauer PE200 compressors and a Renner nitrox membrane system. Tanks are 12-litre aluminium in INT and DIN configurations, with 15-litre tanks available on request. Two 7-meter aluminium tenders, each with Yamaha 100HP four-stroke engines, handle dive site transfers. Safety equipment includes four life rafts for 60 people total, smoke and heat-rise detectors, CO2 leak sensors, an ENOS diver beacon system, and Starlink internet with satellite phone backup. Full board includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner served buffet-style with Indonesian, Asian, and international cuisine, plus a barbecue dinner each cruise. Water, coffee, tea, and juice are complimentary throughout; soft drinks, beer, wine, and spirits are available for purchase, with no corkage fee on guests' own duty-free alcohol.

Booking FAQ

Booking is easy - a 20% deposit secures your spot immediately, with the remaining balance due 100 days before departure. If you're booking within 100 days of your trip, full payment is required to confirm your reservation. Popular routes book 6-12 months or even further, so we recommend securing your spot early.
