Nusantara

Liveaboard in Indonesia

0 (0 reviews)

Nusantara is a 21-meter liveaboard built in 2017 and fully overhauled in 2022, accommodating up to 12 guests in a dorm cabin for 8 below deck and 4 covered deck sleeping spots. A Komodo National Park specialist operated by Mikumba Diving, the vessel runs 3 to 5-night trips year-round in Komodo, excluding February. For the 2026/2027 season, rates start from USD $210 per person per day.

Nusantara is the budget safari boat in the Mikumba Diving fleet, operated by the same Green Fins certified and PADI Eco Centre accredited team behind the mid-range Jelajahi Laut. Refurbished in 2022 from ironwood and teak, the vessel is narrow at 3 meters wide, keeping the design simple and functional — purpose-built for affordable, no-frills liveaboard diving in Komodo National Park rather than extended comfort cruising. A crew of five plus a cruise director and dive guides keeps operations focused and lean.

Accommodation is dorm-style below deck with 8 beds, each with a privacy curtain, fan, reading light, and power socket. An additional 4 mattresses on the covered upper deck allow guests to sleep under the stars — a popular choice on calm, clear nights. Two shared bathrooms with western-style toilets and hot showers serve all guests. The main deck has a large dining area and a generous sun deck with beanbags for relaxing between dives. A diving deck at the stern allows direct entry, supported by a speedboat with twin 40HP Yamaha outboards for site access. Dive equipment purchased in 2023 covers 30 tanks in DIN and INT configurations, Suunto dive computers, and snorkeling equipment. Beer and soft drinks are available to purchase onboard.

Booking is easy - a 30% deposit secures your spot immediately, with the remaining balance due 40 days before departure.
