Liveaboard a Indonesia

0 (0 recensioni)

Amalia is a 29-meter traditional wooden liveaboard, originally an old fishing vessel built from Kayu Ulin ironwood and rebuilt by Uber Scuba as a dedicated dive vessel. Operated by Uber Scuba, an established Komodo dive center, the vessel runs 3 to 6-night itineraries within Komodo National Park. Full dive gear included; nitrox not available. For the 2026/2027 season, rates start from USD $250 per person per day.

Amalia was once a working fishing boat before being completely rebuilt in Labuan Bajo by Uber Scuba's team from Bira, under local boat-building project manager Haji Baso. Her name — from the Germanic "Amal" meaning hard work, and the Italian "amaliare" meaning attraction — reflects both her working origins and her current role. At 29 meters long and 5 meters wide, with a 6-cylinder Mitsubishi engine cruising at 8 knots, she's built specifically around diving in Komodo National Park, with up to 15 divers' worth of equipment storage on a dedicated dive deck at the stern. Full recreational dive gear rental is genuinely included in the trip price, a real differentiator in a market where many operators charge separately for equipment. The onboard team also runs Advanced courses and adventure dives such as deep dives, making the boat a practical choice for newer divers looking to build experience alongside more seasoned guests.

Five cabins accommodate guests across three configurations. Two Double En-suite cabins offer a private double bed with an internal en-suite bathroom, natural ventilation, a porthole window, and ceiling fan. Two Twin cabins have two single bunk beds with a shared bathroom between them. One Family/Friends cabin sleeps 2 to 3 guests with a single bed and a double bed, sharing a bathroom with the twin cabins. All cabins are naturally ventilated rather than air-conditioned — a deliberate choice by the operator to avoid running a noisy generator overnight — with personal fans, charging points, and reading lights throughout. Common areas include an open kitchen, indoor saloon with TV, outdoor low dining tables, and an upper sun deck with day beds for sleeping under the stars.

Diving is supported by up to 3 dive professionals for a maximum of 11 guests, including 2 dive instructors and a Divemaster spotter for macro life, with groups capped at 4 people. Two tenders handle site access and safety. Full recreational dive gear rental is included — tanks, BCD, 3mm wetsuit, mask, regulator, booties, and fins, in both DIN and YOKE configurations. Dive computer rental and nitrox are not available. Each diver has a tagged personal dive station with 2 tanks, and separate rinse buckets are provided for electronics and masks. All meals, soft drinks, snacks, SUP use, land excursions, and a beach BBQ are included. Komodo National Park entrance fees, Rinca entrance fee, alcohol, and diving insurance are not included and mandatory insurance can be purchased through the operator if not arranged independently.
