Sundari Voyages

Sundari Voyages is a 34-meter traditional Phinisi liveaboard built in Bira, Bulukumba in 2024 and launched in 2025, accommodating up to 12 guests on shared departures (up to 16 on private charter) across 8 en-suite cabins. Operated by Archipelago Reserve, the vessel runs 4 to 7-night diving and leisure itineraries within Komodo National Park, with dive equipment included and an in-house photographer and videographer onboard. For the 2026/2027 season, rates start from USD $295 per person per day.

Sundari — "Beautiful" in Sanskrit — is the vessel of Archipelago Reserve, a Komodo-based operator with a distinctive approach to liveaboard diving. Beyond the standard dive program, Archipelago Reserve runs collaboration trips that bring together underwater photographers, videographers, marine biologists, and expedition leaders alongside guests, creating a more purposeful and educational experience than a typical charter. Beach clean-ups are built into the standard itinerary rather than offered as an optional extra, and dive briefings emphasize responsible interaction with Komodo's marine life — a park where manta rays, reef sharks, and dense currents draw large volumes of divers year-round, making low-impact practices particularly relevant. With an in-house photographer and videographer permanently onboard as part of the crew, guests have professional support for underwater imaging throughout their trip, an uncommon feature at this price point.

Eight cabins across two decks accommodate up to 12 guests on shared departures, ranging from Deluxe Shared and Deluxe Private cabins on the main deck to Signature Ocean and Master cabins on the upper deck — all air-conditioned with en-suite bathrooms and warm-water showers. Full private charter increases capacity to 16 guests. Social areas include an indoor dining room with open kitchen, sundeck, and outdoor lounge.

The dedicated dive deck at the bow is equipped with a camera table, freshwater rinse tanks, and hot showers, with a 7-meter fibreglass dinghy with twin 40HP engines serving all dive transfers. Dive equipment is included, with 12-litre and 15-litre DIN/INT aluminium tanks available. Three to four dives are offered per day including night dives when conditions allow. Itineraries vary between 4 and 7 nights, covering the central and northern park during the dry season (April to November) and central and southern Komodo — known for manta encounters, quieter sites, and excellent visibility — during December to March. Park entrance fees are not included.
