This is a platform spotlight. If you're here to plan an Indonesia liveaboard trip, start with the Indonesia liveaboard guide.

Gaia Love

Gaia Love is a 40-metre marine steel motor yacht with a 10-metre beam, built to reach the far regions of Indonesia in comfort. Twin Yanmar engines give her a cruising speed of 10 knots and a range of 6,570 nautical miles, which is what lets her cover such a wide spread of itineraries across the year.

She carries up to 22 guests in 11 cabins. The operator is Dive Gaia, a Singapore-based company.

Cabins

Eleven en-suite cabins, each around 20 sqm, on two decks:

  • Upper deck (6): each has a private balcony, accessible directly from the cabin.
  • Lower deck (5): the same layout and bed options, without a balcony.

Beds come as king, queen or super-single. Every cabin has individually controlled air conditioning and an in-room TV and entertainment system.

The main deck has a full-beam saloon and restaurant. The top deck is a partly covered open area with a bar, set up for evenings and for outdoor dining.

Diving

The dive deck is designed for up to 20 divers, with personal seating, separate wet and dry zones and 11 compartmentalised camera rinse tanks. A dedicated camera room serves underwater photographers.

Three 5.5-metre aluminium tenders with 85HP outboards take divers to the sites. Three Bauer compressors supply air, and a membrane system supplies nitrox, which is available at an extra charge. Tanks are 12-litre and 15-litre aluminium, with both DIN and INT valves.

A few practical points from the operator:

  • Dives are no-decompression only, and solo diving is not practised.
  • A dive computer and an SMB are mandatory for every diver.
  • Rental equipment is limited and needs to be booked at least 30 days before departure. Full equipment rental does not include a dive computer.

On board

Meals are three a day plus afternoon tea, mixing Western and Indonesian dishes. Soft drinks, water, tea, coffee and snacks are included, and beer and wine are available to buy.

Between dives there is a kayak and a paddleboard, massage service, laundry and satellite broadband (charged separately). The open top deck suits yoga, reading and stargazing at anchor.

Where she sails

For 2026/2027, Gaia Love runs 7 to 11-night itineraries across Raja Ampat, the Banda Sea, Komodo, Alor and the Derawan Islands. Most trips can be booked per cabin or as a full private charter.
