Seven cabins, up to four dives a day, and a Phinisi designed and managed by an experienced liveaboard diver. La Galigo is on Coralbound.

This is a platform spotlight. If you're here to plan an Indonesia liveaboard trip, start with the Indonesia liveaboard guide.

La Galigo

La Galigo is a 33-metre two-mast Phinisi, built in 2012 by craftsmen from Bira in South Sulawesi. The hull is Kayu Besi ironwood with teak interiors. Her last refit was in 2025.

She carries 14 guests in seven cabins, an intimate size for a liveaboard.

La Galigo is one of the more mid-range choices on Coralbound. She dives a lot, the food is good, the crew is good, and guests leave happy. The operator describes her as designed and managed by an experienced liveaboard diver, and the layout shows it: a dedicated dive platform at the rear, and an engine room soundproofed from the cabins so you can sleep.

Diving

Up to four dives a day are offered, in small groups. Dive tenders run from the rear platform, and tanks are 12-litre aluminium, with 15-litre available. Dive equipment is included in the price: full Aqualung and Scubapro gear, plus SMBs, reef hooks and dive computers. Nitrox is available on board. Dive courses are available for guests who want to train on the trip.

Safety equipment includes a defibrillator, EPIRB, satellite phone, 12 hours of emergency oxygen, and life rafts and life vests for all guests. All crew are trained in first aid.

Cabins

Seven cabins in three classes, all en-suite with hot showers and climate control:

  • Deluxe (4): 12 sqm on the lower deck, with American spring mattresses. They sit low in the hull, which suits guests prone to seasickness. The two rear Deluxe cabins can be set up as a double or two singles.
  • Master (2): 14 sqm on the upper deck, with more seclusion and a sunrise view. Each can be set up as a double or two singles.
  • The Suite (1): 22 sqm, with a 48-inch TV, a private lounge with sofas, a fridge and a private balcony with 270-degree views.
