Full dive equipment included, an in-house photographer and videographer on every trip, and a genuine focus on doing Komodo properly. Sundari is now on Coralbound.

Archipelago Reserve

Sundari Voyages — "Sundari" is Sanskrit for beautiful, making the boat's full name a fitting "beautiful journey" — is the vessel behind Archipelago Reserve, a Komodo-focused operator with a distinctive approach to the standard liveaboard format. Beyond the regular dive program, the operator runs collaboration trips bringing together underwater photographers, videographers, marine biologists, and expedition leaders alongside guests — closer to a purposeful expedition than a typical charter. Beach clean-ups are built into the standard itinerary rather than offered as an optional extra, and dive briefings emphasise responsible interaction with Komodo's marine life, a park that draws large volumes of divers year-round for its manta rays, reef sharks, and strong currents.

An in-house photographer and videographer are permanently part of the crew, giving guests professional support for underwater imaging throughout the trip — an uncommon feature at this price point, and one of the clearest reasons Sundari stands out on value.

Sundari

Sundari is a 34-metre traditional phinisi, built in Bira, Bulukumba and launched in 2025. She carries up to 12 guests on shared departures across eight air-conditioned cabins with en-suite bathrooms and warm-water showers — ranging from Deluxe Shared and Deluxe Private cabins on the main deck to Signature Ocean and Master cabins on the upper deck. Full private charter increases capacity to 16 guests.

The dive deck sits at the bow, equipped with a camera table, freshwater rinse tanks, and hot showers, with a 7-metre fibreglass dinghy and twin 40HP engines handling all dive transfers. Full dive equipment is included in the rate — not just tanks — with 12-litre and 15-litre DIN/INT aluminium tanks available. Three to four dives run per day, including night dives when conditions allow, part of a well-rounded liveaboard category worth understanding before you book.

Social spaces include an indoor dining room with an open kitchen, a sun deck, and an outdoor lounge — enough room to spread out between dives without feeling like an afterthought bolted onto a dive-focused boat.

Where and when Sundari sails

Itineraries run 4 to 7 nights within Komodo National Park, varying seasonally. From April to November, routes cover the central and northern park. From December to March, itineraries shift to central and southern Komodo — known for manta encounters, quieter sites away from the peak-season crowds, and excellent visibility. Shorter trips with a strong dive program like this one are also a solid entry point if you're weighing up your first liveaboard.

What's available to book

Sundari's upcoming departures are now live on Coralbound with real-time availability and pricing direct from the operator. Select low-season departures currently carry a 10% discount. Park entrance fees are charged separately and aren't included in the cabin rate.
