If you're not diving, you're still welcome on plenty of diving-only boats, especially higher-end ones. Both cater to mixed groups of divers and non-divers, but where they land on the diving-to-leisure balance changes what your days actually look like. Dive-Heavy Diving & Leisure Trips

You'll still dive a lot on these trips — three to four dives a day is normal — but the itinerary isn't built purely around the best dive sites. Expect excursions, a less rigid daily schedule, and extras like massage and a stronger focus on food. These trips work well if you're a diver traveling with a non-diving partner: the itinerary works for both of you without either side compromising much. You still get a full dive program if you're diving; if you're not, you get genuine attention rather than being an afterthought squeezed between dive briefings.

Leisure-Heavy Diving & Leisure Trips

On these trips you'll dive once or twice a day at most, with the rest of your schedule built around leisure — snorkeling, water sports equipment, hikes, reading on deck, beach barbecues. Most guests aren't diving much, if at all, though instructors are usually on board if you want to try, including a first try dive. If your group is mostly non-divers with one or two people who want to dive occasionally, this is usually the better fit — the schedule is built around your group's actual makeup rather than treating diving as the default and leisure as the exception.

Leisure-Only Trips

No-diving trips fall into two distinct categories: a small niche of longer, dedicated voyages, and a much larger short-trip market built around one specific destination.
