Bajak is a 28-meter Phinisi liveaboard built in 2015 from reclaimed ironwood and teak, accommodating up to 14 guests across 4 cabins — one private double cabin and three shared dorm cabins with gender-neutral booking. A Komodo National Park specialist operated by Scuba Republic, the vessel runs 4-night and 5-night itineraries. Powered entirely by solar panels. For the 2026/2027 season, rates start from USD $195 per person per day.
Bajak — "sea pirate" in Javanese — is Scuba Republic's Komodo-based vessel, the counterpart to their Raja Ampat fleet. Built from reclaimed ironwood and teak in 2015 and powered entirely by 600-watt solar panels, the boat operates quietly and sustainably within Komodo National Park year-round. The shared dorm cabins are booked on a gender-neutral basis, making Bajak one of the more sociable and inclusive budget options in Komodo — a good fit for solo travelers and small groups comfortable with a communal setup. Four meals per day are provided — an extra meal compared to most liveaboards at this price point.
Four cabins accommodate up to 14 guests. One private master cabin offers a double bed with en-suite bathroom. Three dorm cabins with bunk beds share bathroom facilities. Common areas include generous lounging space, an open galley, and a peaceful dive deck. Two SUP boards are available for guest use, and Starlink WiFi is included. The dinghy is a 4.5m, 40HP tender carrying up to 10 passengers for transfers and dive site access.
Two itineraries operate year-round within Komodo National Park. The 4-night Komodo Highlights covers 12 dives across central and north Komodo sites including Batu Bolong, Crystal Rock, Castle Rock, Manta Alley, and the Cauldron, with a Komodo dragon encounter and Padar Island sunset hike. The 5-night South Komodo — Padar and Manta Alley itinerary extends to 15 dives including south Komodo sites such as Manta Alley, End of the Wall, and Secret Garden alongside the same land excursions. Inclusions cover four daily meals, water, tea and coffee, towels, tanks, weights, and dive guides at a maximum 4:1 ratio.
