Two boats, one focus — Komodo, Alor, and the surrounding waters, done properly.
This is a platform announcement. If you're here to plan an Indonesia liveaboard trip, start with the Indonesia liveaboard guide.
Komodo Dragon Liveaboards
Komodo Dragon Liveaboards is a newer operator, operating since July 2025, with a deliberately narrow focus — Komodo National Park, Alor, and the West Komodo–Sumbawa crossing rather than the wider Indonesian archipelago. Two boats cover this range: the flagship Naga Biru and the more intimate Putri Naga.
The operator positions itself around safety, comfort, and well-organised logistics, with itineraries designed to suit divers, snorkellers, and leisure guests alike — not just those chasing maximum dive counts per day.
Naga Biru
Naga Biru is the flagship — a 35-metre liveaboard built in 2024 from Ulin ironwood, designed by naval architect Antonello Benedetti, cruising at 10 knots. She accommodates up to 12 guests on shared cruises and up to 16 on private charter, across seven cabins in five categories spanning three decks.
Cabin options range from a 14 sqm lower deck queen cabin to the Grand Deluxe on the upper deck — 23 sqm with a king or twin configuration, sofa bed, and an expansive 16 sqm private terrace with sun loungers. In between sit a Superior Cabin with 20 sqm and sofa flexibility, a Deluxe Cabin with a private 5 sqm balcony, and a single cabin for solo travellers. All cabins have individual air conditioning, a private en-suite bathroom, and a writing desk.
The main deck houses a camera room, dining and living room, and an outdoor lounge and bar. Diving facilities include a Coltri Sub compressor and membrane nitrox system, with nitrox complimentary for certified divers. Diving, snorkelling, and guided land excursions are included in the rate, alongside full board, espresso coffee, soft drinks, and snacks. A stand-up paddleboard, Starlink WiFi, and complimentary airport and hotel transfers round out the package.
Putri Naga
Putri Naga is the smaller counterpart — a 25-metre wooden liveaboard originally built in 2011 and fully refurbished ahead of the 2025 season. She carries a maximum of 6 guests across 3 double/twin cabins, with one cabin featuring an additional wall bunk for charter flexibility. With just three cabins, she suits couples, families, or small groups wanting the boat largely to themselves.
Available for private charter from a minimum of 2 nights, and for selected shared diving departures typically running 5 nights, Putri Naga covers Komodo National Park and surrounding areas. The same operator standards apply — full board, diving, snorkelling, guided land excursions, SUP, Starlink WiFi, and complimentary transfers — at a more accessible price point than the flagship.
At this size and format, Putri Naga is also well suited to leisure and snorkelling trips, not just diving charters. Three cabins for a family or a group of friends wanting to explore Komodo at their own pace, with a crew handling all logistics.
